Common Questions

  • When do I drop off and pick up my child?
  • Our operating hours are from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.   Parents are free to drop off and pick up any time during those hours.  We ask that students arrive before 10 a.m. to keep a consistent schedule during classroom activities.

  • What if my child is sick?
  • If a child has any of these symptoms in the past 24 hours, he should be kept at home: fever, vomiting, diarrhea, infection related discharge from eyes or nose, or an undiagnosed rash.  Parents should call in an absence first thing in the morning.

  • Does The Early Years supply meals and snacks?
  • Snacks and food are provided for children that eat table food and drink juice at no addition tuition.  Parents must supply formula and baby food for the infant classroom.

  • What if my child has a food allergy?
  • We ask that parents notify us of any allergies and it will be noted in the child’s file.  Staff members are alerted of the allergy, and substitutions are made.  Some allergies may require food that is provided by parents.

  • What is the cost and how is it paid?
  • We charge tuition weekly and it depends upon the child’s age.  Payment is accepted by check or credit card.  We prefer that parents use Tuition Express which is an automatic withdrawal from checking, savings, or credit card account.

  • How do I register?
  • Enrollment forms can be downloaded online or picked up at the center.  Completed paperwork and the registration fee will hold a spot for one month.  Two weeks tuition is paid in advance as a deposit.

  • How will I know that my child is safe at The Early Years?
  • Our center is a DCFS licensed facility and adheres to all state regulations.  Health and safety inspections are done twice yearly along with fire safety inspections.  The school nurse visits every month and has her own health and safety checklist as well.  The security system of the building is state of the art as well.  The entrance is a double door foyer with limited access to the building.  Family members have a code to enter in a touch screen computer that opens the locked door.  Visitors and other individuals are required to show identification and be in our computer as an authorized person able to leave with the child.  Each classroom is equipped with two security cameras that documents classroom activities.  Cameras in the foyer, parking lot, and play ground keep track of everyday happenings as well.
